Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny little town that is a bit sleepy. People unfamiliar with the term often think that there is a separate island in the west of Montreal However, in reality it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel grew up on this island, and it is often referred to as her birthplace. But she only stayed there for a short time. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. She had a dream to become a dancer, but an increase in her height led to her growing beyond her dance partner. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that she wore heels and was 6 foot 1 inch tall. After I outgrew the male partners, I quit. Many dancers make the transition into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was her drama teacher who nudged her into this path. Teacher who recommended she try getting a part in the school's annual production. It was her choice to take on the principal part in Anne of Green Gables after she auditioned for. It led to her receiving an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000, she received her BA in Fine Arts at York University. Since then, she's appeared in over 60 productions both big and small. The most notable was when she landed Rita's role in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor on the show in Season 1 and only appeared on occasion.
